In 2016, I realized another plan that I had had for a long time: I started to practice archery. I was fascinated by the good company and the great atmosphere of the competitions. I tried to gather as much information as possible about the tools, techniques and traditions. Perhaps this is why I was given the opportunity - and the task - by my association to complete the MISZ Level I instructor course. With my work I would like to help promote archery, to help our students to compete as successfully as possible and to increase the reputation of our association in our region and throughout the country.
Around 2005, I got hooked on archery and it hasn't let up since. In the years that have passed, and ever since, I have been trying to constantly improve my technique and expand my archery knowledge. I joined the Szegedi Szittyák at the end of 2015, when I started competing again, and my best results so far are a Regional Championship title in the South Great Plain, a national qualification in the II and III class. I compete with a historical bow of modern materials, usually in period historical clothing (which is constantly being improved). Archery for me is more than a simple hobby or sporting activity. With a bow in my hand, I can find my way back to the past and see the path ahead... In addition to competing and organising competitions, I have been teaching in the Association since completing my Level I training in autumn 2019. As well as teaching the technical basics, I try to show our students the mysteries of archery that have captivated me all these years.
I discovered this great sport in 2003. Since then I have been involved in traditional archery. I have travelled the country with my peers for various competitions, and I have fought my way onto the podium many times with great enthusiasm. I have made many true friends among archers and this means a lot to me. For me, archery means mental relaxation and peace of mind. And by preserving tradition, I would like to show that Hungarians have a lot to be proud of. In recent years, the focus of my activities has shifted more and more from competitions to organising competitions, coaching and other association work. I completed the Level I instructor training in spring 2017 and the Level 2 at the end of 2017.
